TRUSTED LABS PROVIDES
MOBILE CONTENT VALIDATION SERVICE

Trusted Labs evaluates mobile application against Telecom Operator’s Security Policy.

3GSM Barcelona, February 13th, 2007 - Trusted Labs, Trusted Logic’s subsidiary dedicated to security services, has designed a complete process – named “Content Validation” – to validate mobile application security, starting from risk analysis up to automated validation of applications against telecom operator security policy.

Mobile applications are increasingly available in the market, and as Telecom Operators develop their value added services offering, they release third parties’ sensitive applications such as payment or PayTV. To protect third parties, end customers and their own assets, Telecom Operators must set up a mobile application validation process.

Trusted Labs starts by helping its clients define their security policy. Trusted Labs brings its expertise in risk analysis and validation methodology and technology, coupled with its in-depth knowledge of embedded software, particularly for mobile handsets and smart cards. The results are a security guide that can be used by evaluators to validate applications against their own security rules, and developer security guidelines that enable third parties to smoothly pass the validation process.

In a second step, Trusted Labs implements the security rules within its Security Analysis Tool (TL-SAT). This sophisticated tool was developed by Trusted Labs research engineers over several years, and makes it possible to analyze a large volume of applications.

Finally Trusted Labs - already a recognized evaluation laboratory in the smart card market - offers its expertise and tools to validate the applications. Depending on how sensitive the applications are, Trusted Labs can perform automated analyses or deeper investigations. Visit Trusted Labs at the 3GSM show in Barcelona at booth 2F49 from February 12 to 15.
